IPL Manufacturing Operations - Phosphate Hill consists of an integrated open cut mine and processing facility, producing high quality ammonium phosphate fertilisers for domestic and export markets. The production facilities include ammonia, phosphoric acid, granulation and beneficiation plants. The plants are fitted with the latest technology and feature state of the art manufacturing processes.
The Phosphoric acid plant consists of horizontal vacuum belt filters for the purpose of dewatering rock slurry and filtering phosphoric acid from gyspum, reaction vessels for the purpose of reacting phosphate rock with sulphuric acid and an evaporation unit converting intermediate acid to strong acid. Phosphate rock slurry/phosphoric acid & sulphuric acid storage facilities together with reslurrying of gypsum for tailings management is included.
Reporting to the Mineral Acid Plant Team Leader, your duties will include ensuring production volume and quality in accordance with set targets, perform housekeeping duties, resolve operating issues as they arise, maintenance notifications and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities Include :
1. Conduct safe field operations
2. DCS control room operations
3. Conduct safe permits & isolations procedures
4. Shutdown preparation and planning of the plant
5. Participate in continuous training and development
About you
We're seeking individuals who embrace challenge and are committed to maintaining a high level of physical fitness, while also demonstrating a passion for continuous learning and development in the field of Chemical Manufacturing.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and attributes:
6. Physically fit and able to perform daily manual handling activities
7. Experience in a Process Technician role in a continuous processing environment, or; a trade qualification, and motivation to transition to an operations role.
8. You will be flexible, conscientious, quality oriented and able to function effectively in a small, self-managed team environment.
9. Previous experience within the chemical or gas processing industries would be advantageous, as would boiler and turbine operational experience.
10. Proactive and results-driven, you have a strong focus on safety and quality work and thrive in an environment where you will be required to build strong working relationships with people at all levels.
11. Must have excellent communication skills.
