We are looking for a Staff Specialist in Virtual Care. RPA Virtual Hospital is Australia’s first Virtual Hospital and provides a personalised service for people in the community – a new way of caring. The rpavirtual care centre is able to connect with patients and their carers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by utilising technology to build on the legacy of expert staff, providing excellent patient and family centred care in the community.
The primary purpose of the role of the Staff Specialist in the Virtual Care Centre is to provide a high quality clinical service and to assist the Clinical Director and Deputy Clinical Director with the planning, development, implementation and delivery of a broad range of innovative virtual models of care across the clinical spectrum and healthcare system.
The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of a relevant Australian Medical College (such as Royal Australasian College of Physicians or Australasian College of Emergency Medicine) and/or
other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
