DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrate personal commitment to safety and the well-being of people. Provides input to the owner's execution strategy and ensures that execution plans are consistent with that strategy. Be responsible for development of projects from project initiation, investigations design and execution and handover. Provides leadership to the engineering design and process design modifications occurring in existing operations to ensure that project goals and priorities are understood and creates a highly committed and aligned team environment with Operations team and all who can influence the project outcomes. Ensure all engineering design modifications in current operations are tracked within the system. Ensures governance on the engineering from Consultants and other project activities, specifically compliance to procedures, and policies. Authorises all commitments of expenditure on the project (subject to agreed delegation), and approves payment of invoices, manages claims responses etc. Ensures a detailed scope, cost and schedule control baseline is developed and manage project based on agreed control baseline. Carries clear responsibility and accountability for the delivery of the engineering design, engineering standards and project specific standards to achieve project goals. Manage relationships and use 'Best for Project' decision making to deliver project objectives. Conducts regular engineering design meetings to review the progress, risks, and issues in all disciplines of the project. Undertake reviews, and organise engineering service providers for owner's team design and HAZOP reviews for design to ensure required design integrity. Manage risk within accountabilities including project risk matrix. Lead the management and engagement of key project vendors during construction and commissioning. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Tertiary degree in engineering and over 10 years project management experience. Project management experience in the mining/resources /major industrial sector. Experience in downstream metallurgical processing / chemical plants. Knowledge of Australian engineering and construction practices. Ability to implement effective risk mitigation. Ability to form relationships at all levels in the project organisation. Familiarity with the application of digital technologies throughout the project phase. Experience in process design, brown field environment, construction management, commissioning. Team management and stakeholder management experience.
