Due to recent rapid expansion through acquisitions and restructuring, this is a newly created position within a Shared Services team of seven people. This is a temp to permanent opportunity, with the expectation of becoming a permanent employee after three months.
The role
In this role, you will focus on debt collection, credit control, and providing accounts receivable support while dealing with a large volume of clients across various government entities, including state government, local councils, and sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and civil engineering.
Your role will include but not limited to:
* Handle inbound and outbound collection calls, following up with emails.
* Manage a large ledger; for example, 4,000 invoices were raised in September.
* Respond to client inquiries, resolving issues related to invoices and payments.
* Resolve invoice discrepancies effectively.
* Update client information and maintain accurate, detailed notes.
* Raise credit notes as necessary.
* Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Act as an AR backup when needed, with the ability to raise AR invoices
About You
We will ideally like to see that you possess the following skills and experience:
* 2 to 3 years of experience in debt collections and credit control
* Familiarity with MYOB or Xero (advantageous but not mandatory)
* Strong communication skills for effective client engagement
* Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
