Strength & Conditioning Coach and Sport Office SupportSaint Stephens College is currently seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Sport Office Support who will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a strength and conditioning program for all sports, with the three major goals of improving athletic performance, reducing athletic injuries, and teaching lifelong fitness and movement skills. In accordance with sound scientific principles, the Strength and Conditioning Coach and Sport Office Support supervises training sessions, evaluates athletes, maintains athlete records, and teaches strength and conditioning classes and/or individual programs as needed.While being responsible for maintaining the strength and conditioning facility, and for establishing policies, plans, and procedures for the safe and professional operation of the facility, the person will also be a highly skilled administrator able to engage with students, teachers, parents and from time to time, community members.The positionFixed term one year contract, 38 hours per week, Term TimeCommencing in January 2025Duties include but are not limited to:Strength and ConditioningDesign and implement strength training and conditioning programs for students of varying age and ability that reflects research‐driven practices and the Long‐Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.Instruct students in strength and conditioning activities, based on timetable allocations for curriculum area specialties (for example PE classes).Ensure students uphold the student code of conduct and manage class/group activities in alignment with the College’s broader pastoral care and behaviour management procedures.Design and implement policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program to meet the requirements of a safe working environment.Annually conduct and review a departmental risk management plan.Facilitate a collaborative relationship with sport coaches, sports medicine specialists, and other strength and conditioning experts locally and inter/intrastate.Support student rehabilitation and strengthening programs by working in cooperation with medical professionals and coaches, identified by either the College or families.Sports SupportSport field set up, including the need to be aware of scheduling and usage, for multiple sports, differing age levels and particular events across the College calendar.Sports equipment management and stocktake, including oversight of the sport storage area.Implement sound WHS practices that address sport specific requirements.Attend to face-to-face, email and telephone interaction with students, parents, employees and external stakeholders.As required, and in ad-hoc situations, provide assistance for staff and students to ensure the professionality of the College is always upheld and that business continuity across the College can be maintained.Monitor the assigned email inboxes and any associated Drop Boxes.Provide administrative support to the Director of Sports and the Sports Coordinator, including:- Use of Clipboard to monitor fixtures, results and student attendance- Purchasing catering requirements and any ancillary resource requirements for special events/activities including bus bookings, room bookings, calendar bookings, trophy and certificate organisation.Collaborate with the Sports Coordinator and Events team, as required, to assist in the delivery of ceremonies, presentations, assemblies, carnivals and other special sports events.Liaise across the College, as required, and under the direction of the Director of Sports to ensure communication and relations across the College are upheld and strengthened.Oversee the ordering, maintenance and stocktake of sport equipment, in line with departmental budgets and with approval from the Director of Sport.Maintain student files and sport activity files/documents, with an understanding of the need for confidentiality and the sensitivity of information, while maintaining strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.Other duties/requirementsProvide administrative support across the administration team and assist with relieving duties when other team members are on breaks, short periods of leave or engaged in urgent duties.Role model friendliness, empathy, open-mindedness, with high standards of personal and professional the College leadership and Board.Tertiary qualifications in Sport or Exercise Science or a similar qualification, with a strong working knowledge of how to analyse and develop techniques for strength training, particularly with adolescents.A current relevant professional certification credentialed by an independent accreditation agency — for example, the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification or Australian Strength and Conditioning Association level 1 or 2.A proactive and professional approach that demonstrates initiative, flexibility and a high level of motivation.First aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications or the ability to gain the certification.Mandatory Clearances/CertificationsBlue Card, in accordance with ‘No Card, No Start law’, as per the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.First Aid certification (or willingness to complete first aid
