The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport Program provides specialised, high value meteorological services that contribute to the efficient and effective operation of aviation activities within the Australian Flight Information Region and the Asia-Pacific Region.We are seeking experienced and motivated senior forecasters/team leaders to join our meteorological teams within the Aviation Operations section. These teams work 24/7 shifts and provide aviation professionals with high-quality meteorological products designed specifically for the aviation sector.These roles require experience in operational meteorology and deep familiarity with forecast centres and how operational teams run. The successful candidates will need to maintain an Aeronautical Meteorological Forecaster Competency, in keeping with current Quality Management requirements. Aviation specific training and certification will be provided to successful applicants if required.These roles also require strong leadership skills. As a Senior Meteorologist, you will manage a team of forecasters on shift and provide them with technical advice and guidance to ensure products being issued are high-quality and meet legislative requirements and customer expectations. You will also play a key role in supporting staff development, leading performance conversations and identifying training and upskilling opportunities.You will be the key contact point while on shift for the Forecast Centre Managers, aviation customers and other Bureau teams. #J-18808-Ljbffr
