About The Client
Our client has been operating for over 70 years and is responsible for supplying heavy construction materials such as concrete and aggregates to the construction industry. They are currently seeking a Materials Technician/Aggregates Tester for quarry-based laboratory and in the field testing.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Materials Technician/Aggregates Tester, you will be required to work Monday-Friday commencing at 5:30 am working 9/10 hour days and at least 1 Saturday a month. You will be required to work at the laboratory based in Nerang and complete works on site where a company Ute will be provided. Your main responsibilities will include:
* Perform aggregate field sampling in the quarry
* Perform aggregate testing within the site laboratory
* Carry out equipment calibrations
* Ensure Laboratory NATA requirements are maintained
* Assist the technical team
* Daily use of computers and laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
What you need:
* Manual Drivers Licence
* Previous laboratory or testing experience
* Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques (advantageous)
* Availability to work weekends and regular overtime
* A high level of literacy and numeracy skills (written & verbal)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* High attention to detail
* Strong work ethic and physically fit
* Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol tests
