The Opportunity
We are looking for an Electrical Technician to join our team at the Adelaide office. In this dynamic role, you will play a vital part in delivering and maintaining electrical systems that keep Viterra’s operations running smoothly. From managing projects to troubleshooting electrical systems, this position offers a diverse range of challenges and opportunities to enhance your technical expertise.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Lead Electrical Projects: Ensure electrical projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to Viterra’s technical specifications and Australian regulations.
* Safety & Compliance: Oversee the installation and commissioning process, ensuring that safety standards are met and maintained at all stages of the project.
* Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose complex electrical issues and perform repairs on an ADHOC basis, ensuring systems operate at peak performance.
* Project Management: Coordinate installation and commissioning activities, working with contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
* Collaboration: Work closely with contractors and internal teams on project-related safety matters, technical clarifications, and troubleshooting.
* Technical Supervision: Provide technical oversight during electrical installations, ensuring high-quality standards and safe work practices are upheld.
* Equipment Procurement: Manage the procurement of equipment and services necessary for the successful completion of electrical projects.
About You
You’re an experienced Electrical Technician who is ready to take on a key role in a thriving industry. You bring:
* Qualifications & Experience: Electrical Trade Qualification and at least five years of experience in the electrical trade within Australia.
* Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge in low-voltage electrical systems, PLC control systems (Rockwell/Fuji), and industrial electrical systems, including switchboards, motor control centres, and power quality systems.
* Safety & Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian Standards, Work Health and Safety regulations, and Codes of Practice.
* Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills to resolve complex technical issues.
* Collaboration: Effective communication skills, with the ability to work seamlessly with internal teams and external contractors.
* Desirable Skills: Experience with hazardous areas, machine safety, electrical design review, AutoCAD, and risk assessments.
