The school encourages all students to find a genuine sense of joy and purpose in academic, creative, pastoral, cocurricular and service learning areas.Position Overview:Reporting to the Head of Faculty, the successful applicant will be an energetic and motivated staff member, keen to develop and deliver high-quality teaching programmes within our Senior School of students from Years 7 - 12.We want all our staff to develop professionally in a collegial and high-performing culture, dedicated to supporting students to achieve academically, flourish as individuals, and become life-long learners.Key Responsibilities:Demonstrate appropriate tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education with classroom experience.Teach Maths / Science subjects to students from Years 7-12 - Engineering experience is advantageous.Ability to lead effective curriculum and pedagogical development specific to boys’ education and in keeping with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (preferred).Demonstrated ability at employing strategies that engage Years 7 - 12 students.Ability to work effectively within a team and build cooperative relationships with staff and parents.Willingness to support the spiritual, community and cocurricular life of the School.Current working rights for Australia.Applicants must hold (or be eligible to obtain) registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.Churchie is committed to the provision of a safe and supportive environment for all children and young people and requires all employees, volunteers and visitors to model and encourage behaviour that upholds the dignity and protection of students from harm.
