About the opportunity
The Admissions Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Admissions Office and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient services to internal and external stakeholders, while contributing to the University’s broader strategic goals. This role requires the application of advanced knowledge and expertise to drive continuous improvements in admissions processes, enhancing overall operational performance. The Admissions Manager will adhere to University policies and a broad range of national and international regulations, best practices governing admissions, and frameworks. This includes fostering a seamless and compliant admissions process for all applicants.
About you
o Leads and manages admissions teams to consistently achieve targeted outcomes, ensuring a high standard of service excellence in all aspects of the admissions process.
o Takes full accountability for the management and continuous improvement of team workflows, regularly reviewing performance and implementing timely recommendations or corrective actions where necessary to optimise efficiency.
o Develops, implements, and oversees projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing admissions business processes, ensuring seamless services for applicants across the full range of Faculties and schools, with measurable outcomes.
o Provides expert, proactive advice and recommendations to University staff and key stakeholders on policies, systems, and procedures relating to the admission of students, ensuring compliance, consistency, and alignment with the University’s objectives and best practices.
o Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing admissions team, by providing ongoing training, setting performance expectations, and conducting regular reviews, while creating a positive, collaborative team culture.
o Cultivates strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and manages complex cases, including addressing concerns and disputes, taking proactive steps to identify and mitigate potential issues.
o Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and instructions to team members and stakeholders.
o Exhibits strong organisational and time management skills, ensuring tasks are prioritised and deadlines are met efficiently.
o Effectively manages both the team and team leaders, ensuring collaboration and alignment towards achieving targeted outcomes.
o Makes informed and appropriate decisions, often going above and beyond to ensure the best outcomes for the team and the University.
o Takes ownership of responsibilities and proactively leads the team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
