Position Description
We are seeking a results-oriented Operations Manager to oversee and optimize operations at our Albury manufacturing plant. This key leadership role will focus on ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe operations across purchasing, demand planning/customer service, logistics, and plant production.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing:
1. Coordinate and consolidate cost-effective procurement strategies.
2. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
3. Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
Demand Planning/Customer Service:
1. Coordinate with sales teams to forecast demand and align production schedules.
2. Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment to maintain high customer satisfaction.
3. Resolve customer inquiries and challenges effectively.
Logistics:
1. Oversee Asia Pacific customer and raw material shipping operations.
2. Manage logistics partners to optimize delivery timelines and costs.
3. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in transport and trade.
Plant Production:
1. Implement and maintain safety protocols to achieve a strong plant safety record.
2. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
3. Lead the Plant Manager and plant operations to meet production targets and quality standards.
4. Evaluate and retrofit current plant equipment to service the new Asia Pacific region.
5. Manage annual capital investment budgets.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
1. Customer Service Level: Consistently meet or exceed service expectations.
2. Production Output: Achieve production targets in alignment with demand.
3. Product Quality: Maintain high-quality standards with minimal defects.
4. Plant Safety Record: Uphold a safe working environment with zero major incidents.
5. Operations Budget to Actuals: Ensure adherence to financial budgets and cost controls.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Equivalent experience in manufacturing operations management may be considered.
Experience:
1. 7–10 years of operations management experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. 3–5 years of leadership experience overseeing plant operations.
3. Proven expertise in global logistics and supply chain management.
4. Strong background in purchasing and vendor management.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
2. Analytical: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
3. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
