Due to recent internal structural change, Golding currently have an opportunity for a HR Advisor to join our HR team based in Brisbane.
Reporting to the HR Manager (Support), the successful candidate will have strong and demonstrated capability in being able to provide effective HR advice and support to leaders across multiple project and operational sites. You will be enthusiastic, motivated to succeed and have a high attention to detail. Experience in a projects-based organisation along with the ability to dealing with confidential and sensitive business matters will be an advantage. A proactive and organised work style along with strong interpersonal and communication skills will be essential for role success.
Golding have flexible working conditions allowing you to work from home and in our Brisbane office. Regular travel is to our project sites will be required.
Key role tasks include:
1. Provide advice and support to frontline leaders on general HR/IR matters, in relation to issue resolution, performance management and employee development;
2. Support the Specialist HR Advisor by preparing employment contracts and internal employee correspondence as required;
3. Conduct and/or assist with effective workplace investigations in relation to people complaints or other matters;
4. Deliver training to leaders and other personnel on a variety of HR and IR topics;
5. Provide support to your Manager and Specialist HR Advisors in the execution of HR/IR strategies across Golding, including researching and the negotiation of enterprise agreements;
6. Collect and analyse key HR data and information (including from vendors) and advise your Manager of your assessment, including trends and recommend improvements;
7. Participate in HR audits and other governance activities;
8. Perform HR administration activities, including controlling HR records, updating HR registers, and labour hire vendor documentation;
9. Identify business improvement opportunities and make recommendations on any initiatives that Golding should adopt such that the Golding system is improved; and
10. Develop effective relationships with leaders at all levels of the business and with external stakeholders as required.
Key role capability requirements:
11. Degree level qualification in Human Resources or related field;
12. Experience in a similar role within the mining and civil construction industry is highly preferred;
13. Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and contemporary HR/IR policies and processes is highly preferred;
14. Ability to build effective interpersonal relationships at all levels across the business;
15. Demonstrated ‘hands on’ approach and a high attention to detail is essential;
16. Solutions focused with strong influencing skills;
17. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
18. Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines; and
19. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
