Golf Operations Manager - Fairbairn Golf Club Fairbairn Golf Club, a small boutique 18-hole golf course located in Canberra, seeks a highly motivated and experienced Golf Operations Manager to oversee and enhance the golfing experience. This is a key role for an individual with a deep understanding of golf operations and a commitment to delivering unparalleled member satisfaction.This is a permanent part time role with the final hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. The role is also the Assistant Club Manager and will work very closely with the Club Manager to ensure the club offers a great experience to members and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Competition & Event Management: Plan, execute, and manage all golf competitions and events, ensuring seamless operations and a positive experience for all participants. This includes hire equipment management and golf cart coordination.Timesheet & Booking Management: Maintain efficient timesheet and booking systems, optimising course utilisation and member access.Handicap Administration: Oversee handicap management through platforms like Simple Golf, MiClub and Golflink, ensuring accuracy and compliance with governing regulations.Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyse booking trends and member data to identify opportunities for improvement and provide insightful reports to management.Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for members, providing timely and informative communication regarding events, policies, and general club updates.Team Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate effectively with the General Manager and other team members to achieve strategic goals and foster a positive work environment.Club Management: As the Golf Operations Manager, assist the General Manager to deliver a seamless and memorable experience to members and visitors alike. The role will also multitask supporting the club's bar and café operations where required. Addition income is available to the Golf Operations Manager (GOM) over and above the primary part time role outlined in this job role. A PGA Community Golf Instructor certified as a 'Get into Golf Deliverer' and/or a 'My Golf Deliverer' may coordinate, plan and offer golf lessons and training sessions using the club's facilities potentially covering Golf Australia's 'Get into Golf' and junior programs However, the primary focus of this role must remain the GOM's normal duties at the club and not be distracted by any commitments to additional lessons or training work. Any additional work undertaken involving golf lessons would have to be scheduled outside the GOM's agreed club working hours and would be the sole responsibility of the GOM. All income and expenditure involved with this additional work would remain with the individual. For the additional activities the individual would also need a current ACT Working with Vulnerable People Children check. The club's website, social media, noticeboards and newsletters could be used to promote these services by the GOM in consultation with the Club Manager. Essentially these lessons would be offered by the individual as their own business and not as part of the Fairbairn Golf Club albeit utilising the club's practice facilities at minimal cost.
