About the company & role: PQE Partners is representing an Australian owned technology client with a global presence. They're on the lookout for an innovative Senior Legal Counsel to drive impactful change. The work is primarily focused on complex technology agreements, as well as broader corporate/commercial work. You'll be reporting directly to the Group GC and mentoring a very talented Legal Counsel. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Contracts & Negotiations: Handle a range of agreements—service contracts, vendor deals, leases, and employment arrangements. Strategic Guidance: Advise on key areas like software licensing, cybersecurity, data privacy, and tech transactions. Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with privacy laws, GDPR, and tech standards. Risk Management: Identify and address legal risks, balancing growth with compliance. Intellectual Property: Safeguard and manage IP rights, supporting tech innovation. Training & Development: Build a compliance culture through team training on legal and data security practices. Cross-Functional Partnerships: Work alongside IT, operations, and sales to drive aligned business goals. Policy Shaping: Assist in creating policies on IT security and regulatory standards. Mentorship: Support and guide junior legal team members. About you: They're looking for a proactive problem-solver who values creativity, client focus and a sustainable mindset. You'll be 6-10 PQE with deep knowledge in complex technology contracts, risk management, IP, privacy, and compliance. Any government experience in IT would be a big plus.
