The role
Within Consumer Protection, the Conciliation and Trader Intervention Branch undertakes activities to help businesses and consumers resolve disputes.
As a Conciliation Coordinator, you will organise the resources and work of the conciliation team. They are a diverse, energetic and enthusiastic group of Conciliators working together to achieve great outcomes for Western Australia. Expertise in the team covers the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), tenancy laws and regulations, retirement villages, residential parks, and motor vehicle matters.
You will be responsible for leading a conciliation team by overseeing dispute resolution activities, as well as identifying emerging trends and issues, providing accurate advice to customer enquiries relating to Consumer Protections regulated industries and assisting in the development and maintenance of systems and procedures.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.
