The George Town Hospital and Community Services provide 15 acute care beds, physiotherapy, dental and podiatry services, and other visiting providers. Other services provided by the Hospital include Palliative Care, community Nursing, and Home Help/Personal Care. Nursing quarters are available on site for staff to utilize with shared kitchen and bathroom amenities. George Town Hospital is approximately a 35-minute drive from Launceston and is centrally located, close to supermarkets/eateries and a five-minute drive to the beaches of Low Head.
The Role:
Assist in the cleaning of allocated areas in compliance with Australian Safety and Quality Health Care Standard (ASQHCS), Agency policies, and other established standards and protocols. Carry out and assist in food preparation and cleaning within the kitchen area, maintaining a high standard of hygiene in compliance with ASQHCS, Agency policies, and other established standards and protocols.
You will need:
* Clean and maintain all areas of the Hospital and Community Centre, including floors, bathrooms, toilets, offices, consulting rooms, patient areas, and all common areas, by dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, and spot cleaning as required.
* Knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and diets.
* Maintain cleaning techniques and associated machinery, disinfectants, and detergents to comply with established hospital standards.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part-time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 67 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 March 2025.
Fixed term, casual position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 24 months.
* Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $59,930 to $61,637 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
