We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.
Suitable applicants will, under teacher direction, assist the teacher in the delivery of planned education programs and implement individual student or small group programs or demonstrations. They will ideally be compassionate and able to work collaboratively to implement documented plans. When required, they will also provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress. The role includes assisting students with general health, wellbeing, self-management, and life skills.
Suitable applicants should possess the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff and students. They should also have a strong knowledge of a range of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour. Experience working within the disability field would be valued and training in ‘Team Teach’ is highly regarded.

1. good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents, and teaching professionals on the provision of educational programs, and to assist teachers in understanding students where necessary.
2. good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs, including special education and therapy programs where these have been implemented.
3. good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
4. ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
5. knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
6. ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
