Sydney Ancillary Areas Contract or Temporary Our client is a leading corporate bank in Sydney, seeking a junior risk candidate with corporate banking experience to join their risk department team on an initial 6-month contract basis. Candidates will ideally have 2-3 years’ experience in an operational risk role, ideally in an analyst/reporting capacity. Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of the Risk Control Department, the purpose of this position is to assist with the analysis, reporting, operation planning, and project management for the business and management, by supporting the Senior Manager in reporting & analysis. Provide structured and considered project management plans and actions for branch wide projects. Key Tasks: Coordinate the communication of Head Office Procedures (HOP) within the Branch highlighting mandatory requirements. Monitor the implementation of mandatory HOP requirements by Departments including liaising with relevant departments. Coordinate the creation, amendment and deletion of Internal Operation Procedures (IOPs) for Sydney Branch including liaising with relevant departments, obtaining HO approval, as required, and updating the local Intranet. Gather, analyse, and summarize information necessary for a transaction volume monthly analysis and a Key Risk Indicator report, a Control Self-Assessment (CSA) report, other report related to operation planning. Prepare and coordinate Outsourcing reports to be submitted to HO and inputs in HO Outsourcing system. Act as the coordination point for the Risk Department within the Branch. Key Competencies/Experience: 2-3 years in an operational risk analyst/reporting capacity in an institutional banking business. Understanding of Australian financial markets environment and products. Analytical skills plus ability to build solid arguments and proactive ideas/ solutions in operation risk/planning and strategic proposals. Project management and Time Management skills – ability to deliver to deadlines. Experience in work flow systems. Effective professional level communication skills, including fluency in spoken and written English.
