Our client is a local manufacturer with a strong reputation for design and manufacturing products for the mining, logistics, infrastructure and agriculture sectors, utilise leading edge systems and technology. Due to growth, we’re seeking a Machine Shop Manager to join their team. Within this role, you will achieve outcomes of the business in producing high quality products to both internal and external customers. You’ll be a strong leader with a focus on both people and equipment management, as well as providing support to the Operations Manager.
The role:
* To maintain a production schedule for the department to meet both internal and external customer delivery requirements.
* To plan, prioritise, assign, supervise and review the work of all staff within the Machine Shop and Welding Bay areas.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement changes.
* To operate Machines if/when required to meet delivery requirements.
* To assist with quoting, project management, materials purchasing and quality checks.
* To coordinate maintenance of all Machine Shop equipment.
* To manage performance of your team including CNC specialists, Machinists, Boilermakers and Operators.
What we’re looking for:
* 5+ years prior experience managing employees in the same or similar setting
* Mechanical Trade in Fitting & Machining
* Formal CAD/CAM training
* Prior experience in driving cultural change in a Workshop/operational environment
* High level computer and communication skills
* Able to pass Pre-Employment Medical including Drug & Alcohol Test
