About the role
We are seeking a Graphic Designer at the APS5 level with proven skills across a range of media for our Commonwealth Government client based in Deakin, ACT. The successful candidate will provide graphic design advice and develop creative works related to STEM learning outcomes.
A 6-month labour hire contract is on offer.
Please note: Only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People card and undergo a police check can be considered for this role.
Duties:
* Actively participate as a member of the Design Team and provide support to the Senior Graphic Designer and Design Manager.
* Under limited direction, conceive, develop, produce, and implement creative graphic design outcomes.
* Provide graphic design advice and work collaboratively and productively with the organisation’s teams, staff, and external providers relating to the design, development, production, delivery and installation of projects.
Requisite skills and experience:
* Tertiary qualifications in graphic design, or equivalent, and demonstrated experience and ability in graphic design required.
* Proven well-developed graphic design skills required across a range of media including brand/identity design, print, illustration, digital, screen, and online design. Exhibition/exhibit design would be an advantage.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment, providing professional graphic design expertise on development issues, including the ability to liaise effectively with clients, designers, printers and suppliers.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat applications is essential as well as sound knowledge of printing and digital graphic output processes. Skills and experience in Adobe After Effects or similar would be an advantage.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate, with limited supervision, complex design projects, with competing priorities, through to completion.
