The Role
* Manage and lead the kitchen team, including rostering, training and mentoring staff.
* Develop and implement creative, high-quality menu items that showcase seasonal and local ingredients.
* Ensure consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation and service.
* Monitor and control food costs, stock take and inventory to maximise profitability.
* Maintain a safe, clean and efficient kitchen environment that complies with all health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with our upper management team to develop and execute marketing and promotional initiatives.
What we’re looking for
* Minimum two years’ experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume hospitality setting.
* Formal culinary training and/or relevant qualifications in commercial cookery.
* Proven track record of leading and motivating kitchen teams.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
* Strong working knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
* Creativity and passion for developing innovative menu items and seasonal specials with experience in menu design, costing and a strong interest in adapting to changing food trends.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work collaboratively with the food and beverage team and contribute to building a positive and harmonious culture.
* Have the flexibility to work a range of shifts including days, evenings and weekends.
* Excellent attention to detail and experience in managing and projecting budgets.
