Senior Policy Adviser - TreasuryFull-time PermanentCloses: 02 December 2024Details: The Treasurer, Chris Steel MLA, is seeking an experienced Treasury policy adviser.Reporting to the Minister's Chief of Staff, the Treasury Senior Adviser will provide policy, analytical and strategic political advice to the Treasurer and ACT Government.Key responsibilities of the Senior Adviser's role include:Supporting the Chief of Staff in managing the annual Budget process, including coordinating and providing quality advice to the Treasurer on Budget submissions, working closely with senior Treasury officials to prioritise proposals and supporting the work of the Expenditure Review Committee and Cabinet.Providing high quality strategic fiscal and economic policy advice.Providing briefings, speeches and other outputs for the Minister as required.Analysing and reviewing complex policy issues and assisting the Minister with issues management as directed.Working closely with other policy advisers and media advisers to support and provide input into longer term planning, strategy development, and policy review for the Minister.Developing strong stakeholder relationships.Contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment and culture where all staff are valued and respected.Other duties as directed.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.
