About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of academics in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at RMIT University.
The appointee will play a significant role in the teaching and research areas of Environmental and Safety Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting teaching activities in undergraduate, Master, and Graduate Diploma programs
* Maintaining and advancing scholarly, research, and professional capabilities
* Actively promoting the program by establishing and fostering memberships, links, and partnerships with academic, industry, and professional communities
* Working collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team
* Updating colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation
* Course coordination may also be required
Selection Criteria:
* Demonstrated research experience and track record in Environmental and Safety Engineering
* Knowledge and solid research track record within one or several of the following areas: Environmental Sustainability, Process Safety, Risk and Reliability Engineering, and Asset Integrity Management
* Ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including online delivery
* Ability to produce high-quality curriculum or program materials
* Capacity to work effectively with and negotiate sensitively with students
* Ambitious research goals and recognition for quality research outputs
* Ability to supervise higher-degree research candidates
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
About the School of Engineering
The School of Engineering is one of the largest Engineering Schools in Australia.
It has over 350 staff and 7000 students, including 750 HDR students.
The School is committed to driving innovation and collaboration through our industry partnerships.
We have six Departments: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering.
In 2023, the School developed a new strategic plan, which will see an increasing emphasis on engagement with industry and other external partners.
We are developing new industry-led degrees, where our students learn while working for companies, as well as innovation hubs where we will co-locate industry partners, our research teams, and our undergraduate students.
