Summary:The Radiation Therapist is responsible for administering radiation therapy to cancer patients under the supervision of a radiation oncologist and other healthcare professionals. They create treatment plans, monitor patients during treatment, and manage side effects.Responsibilities:
Conduct radiation therapy sessions according to physician's orders
Administer appropriate dosages of radiation
Monitor patients during treatment and manage side effects
Maintain accurate records of treatment sessions
Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans
Educate patients and their family members about treatment procedures and side effects
Ensure radiation safety procedures are followed at all times
Maintain equipment and keep treatment rooms clean and organised
Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure high-quality patient care
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy or a related field
Current license in Radiation Therapy
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in radiation therapy
Knowledge of radiation safety procedures
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required
