Australian Training Company (ATC) is seeking someone with a genuine passion and interest in Sports Administration for a 12 Month Sport, Aquatics and Recreation Traineeship.During this time, you will complete a Nationally Recognised Qualification – SIS30122 – Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation.This position will be located at a Northside College in Canberra.In this position, you will support the Health & Physical Education faculty by: Assisting teachers and staff where necessary with all aspects of the elite sports program and additional sporting opportunities including; team trials and formation, training, coaching, excursion preparation and administration Participating as a staff member at meetings and excursions, managing student safety, coaching, pre-excursion planning, preparation, implementation, pack-up and evaluation Manage the inventory, maintenance, and distribution of specialised sports equipment, first aid, and apparel required by athletes, ensuring facilities are safe for training and performance Learning and implementing the protocols and skills associated with sports promotion through social media and newsletters Liaise and network with key stakeholders and research new opportunities for grants and sponsorships Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in sport and recreation to enhance your skills and contribute effectively to the school's sporting programs Mentoring and role modelling appropriate behaviours and communication for students Completing all the training and assessment requirements for the SIS30122 – Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation In this position, the trainee may be required to be available outside the 'normal' school hours and time in lieu will be provided.The successful applicant will ideally: Have a current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain Have documented experience in and a passion for sport, physical fitness and recreational activities Present professionally and have a good level of personal physical fitness Have a strong sense of accountability and a commitment to providing a positive environment Have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and a team player Demonstrate initiative and strong capacity to follow operating procedures and instructions Demonstrate excellent time management skills, organisation, and ability to prioritise tasks effectively Demonstrate confident communication skills both written and oral Be reliable and committed to the role Have a well-developed ability to recognise and value the diversity of staff and students Be able to maintain supportive, positive and professional relationships with the client groups aged 16-18 years old A mature and responsible attitude toward this role is essential, as it will carry with it a great deal of responsibility.If you are looking to study Health and Physical Education teaching or pursue a career in Sports Administration or Management this traineeship would be ideal.This position will commence mid December 2024.A current 'Working with Vulnerable People' registration is required for this position.This position would suit a Year 12 leaver.Resume and cover letter are to be directed to Karyn Hunter, ****** Application close date is 5pm Monday 18th of November
