Fiona Stanley Hospital has an amazing opportunity for a suitably experienced individual to lead our Plastic Surgery Department.
As Head of Department you will:
1. provide clinical leadership to ensure appropriate, safe, quality patient care in line with the National Safety and Quality in Health Service and other Professional Standards; relevant WA Health and SMHS performance standards and targets
2. promote personalised, timely and efficient patient care
3. motivate and mentor all levels of medical staff and ensures junior medical staff are appropriately educated, supported, monitored and supervised
4. manage the performance of Consultants, Senior Medical Practitioners and Fellows
5. ensure the performance of Junior Medical Staff is appropriately managed
6. promote and lead case reviews, benchmarking, audit, education, research and innovation.
This is a sessional position with a minimum of 10 sessions ( FTE) per fortnight for 5 years, with the possibility of extension(s).
Fiona Stanley Hospital is part of the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group, in which Fiona Stanley is the acute Tertiary site and Fremantle is the Specialty Elective site. The Plastics Surgery Service also has a small footprint at Fremantle Hospital.
Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a major tertiary hospital in the south metropolitan area. FSH is a 783-bed hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.
