We pride ourselves on providing high-quality customer services, creating places for people to come together to learn and connect with one another and our resources.If you would like to know more about Blacktown City Libraries, please visit our website.About the opportunityWe are seeking an energetic and motivated Library Technician to join the Community Learning Team on a permanent, full-time basis at Max Webber Library, Blacktown.The primary purpose of this role is to support the Local History Librarian in providing core local history services, capturing and documenting local historical information and resources, and delivering training to staff and public.It is essential to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, play a key role in promoting library print and digital resources, and enhance customer experience and digital engagement.Leadership as well as team contribution are important to the success of this role, as well as having suitable experience in a public library setting.Qualifications and experienceLibrary Technician Diploma, Associate Diploma or equivalent, as recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)Suitable library experienceDemonstrated strong commitment to a customer focused serviceExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenDemonstrated ability to work within a team environment and independentlyWell-developed problem-solving skillsDemonstrated high level of skill in digital literacyWorking with Children Check (WWCC)Current class C driver’s licenceFirst aid certificationAbility to speak a community languageRemuneration and benefitsThe salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.Entry level for this position starts at $1,316.09 per weekOpportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangementEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.Blacktown City Council is committed to safety.
