The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication, and professionalism of its staff.About the Role:Reporting to the Business Manager, the Facilities Manager fulfils a hands-on role, as well as providing high-quality strategic planning and management of the School’s property, maintenance and ground requirements. The Facilities Manager is responsible for actively leading, managing and providing direction to the School’s Maintenance Team and for coordinating the use of third-party contractors in delivering maintenance and property needs.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Leadership of the Facilities team, building capability, teamwork and ensuring all deliverables are met in a timely manner.Coordinate capital works projects ensuring timelines, budgets and contractual requirements are met.Monitor all school facilities and school property and ensure preventative maintenance is routinely undertaken, and repair maintenance is completed within efficient timeframes.Proactively manage the site, ensuring a focus on best practice and continual improvement.Manage stakeholder relationships.Ensure the school’s facilities are impeccably presented at all times.Oversee and arrange for the removal or cleaning of waste, trade waste or litter.Develop and utilise electronic systems for prioritising and scheduling work and complete all associated administration.Oversee external security to ensure the School is secure during out-of-hours.Monitor the security and fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance and maintenance.Take a proactive approach to Work Health and Safety and risk management across the school.Provide or coordinate first response evacuation instruction and evacuation coordination training.This is a permanent full time position.About you:To be successful in this role you will have previous experience in a similar role, have led and managed a team of people, and have a good understanding of building codes and regulations.You will need to have:A trade, engineering, construction or similar qualification and/or experience in these fields;Highly skilled people management capability;Well-developed business management skills including administration, organisation and negotiation skills;Extensive knowledge of work health and safety legislation and best practice;Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure projects are completed fully, to a high standard and on time;Ability to coordinate a range of trades and facilities professionals ensuring a high level of workmanship and service;The ability to build quality relationships with stakeholders quickly;Working with Children Check (blue card);Current Drivers Licence - Open class; andMaintain a degree of flexibility in working hours from time to time as required for the position.Your Application:Please address your application to the Principal.
