About you
As our Registrar Medical Educator, you’ll have an interest and passion for medical education coupled with successfully completed all the requirements of GPT1 and GPT2 (by January 2025) training with Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program by January 2025. To thrive in this role, you’ll have:
* experience in the general practice environment (currently employed)
* strong communication and advocacy skills and a passion for assisting registrars and GP training.
* successful completion of all requirements of GPT1 and GPT2 training with Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) by January 2025.
* an approved clinical GP training placement within RACGP at least three sessions per week and/or in line with RACGP Extended Skills Post minimum patient contact requirements.
* able to communicate effectively and work a professional team while being individually accountable.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Regional Medical Educator, you’ll be working under the guidance and mentorship of the Medical Educators, assisting with planning, developing, and delivering education activities within the respective training locality or region. This role counts towards your Extended Skills Training. In addition, you’ll:
* advocate for the individual and collective needs of GP registrars participating in the RACGP training programs.
* assist medical educators provide information to Registrars about training program requirements and other educational matters.
* participate in and contribute to Medical Educator PD workshops and conferences
* facilitate and support registrar and supervisor educational activities
* attend Medical Educator meetings and other stakeholder related meetings as required to contribute to the quality assessment and improvement processes within the organisation and to build established links with stakeholders
* support Medical Educators with the promotion of GP training to medical students and prevocational doctors and contribute to articles for newsletters and relevant publications
* undertake projects to improve areas of GP training (including providing practical assistance and support to GP registrars and the development and implementation of educational outcomes)
