Equine Veterinarian – Ambulatory & Racetrack – Ballarat, VIC – Full-time – experienced (2 years minimum)
This well-established 12-Vet Practice based in the thriving regional city of Ballarat, on the edge of the Ballarat Turf Club Racing & Training Centre, are looking for an experienced Equine Veterinarian to work within their hospital in providing ambulatory services to the racetrack and general Equine clients in the surround area. The practice conducts regular visit to neighbouring racing regions and has a satellite 5-Vet Equine clinic also based in Warrnambool.
The practice currently has three surgeons (two specialists and one ACVS residency trained) who are available for consultations and assistance with referral of cases. The clinic has full surgical facilities in ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, scintigraphy and standing MRI facilities, and the ability to house up to 28 horses.

The position available is for a member of the racetrack and ambulatory team, which provides service to all breeds of horses from thoroughbreds, standardbreds, and sport horses, through to pleasure horses and ponies in the district.
Who will you be?
* A Qualified and registered Equine Veterinarian who is experienced (2 years minimum preferred – preferably in a similar role)
* An Equine Veterinarian who is capable of providing racing stable work, and general practice equine work including; lameness assessment, dentistry, lacerations, reproductive work including ultrasound and scanning, field colic assessment, and all other general veterinary equine practice
* Someone who demonstrates our core values including compassion, respect, professionalism and teamwork
* Someone who is wanting to further professionally develop themselves, whilst working alongside a like-minded team of Equine professionals
* Someone who is able to share the weekend after hours responsibility of the ambulatory team with the normal rotation being one weekend in every four weeks
* Someone who is able to perform all ambulatory services as outlined above, and also able to attend both thoroughbred and harness race meetings as the official veterinarian

* Above award competitive remuneration (commensurate with experience) – starting at 120,000k including base salary, superannuation, and an estimate of extra after hours commissions, as well as a car and phone for business and reasonable personal use
* AVA membership and annual continuing Education stipend of 2,000k, per annum
