Job Summary
:
As Mechanical Engineer, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s mechanical aspects.
You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project’s mechanical aspects are met.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership
Major Responsibilities:
1. Perform design of mechanical systems for materials handling including crushers, screens, conveyors, and pumps.
2. Perform calculations and preliminary analysis leading to technical design recommendations.
3. Preparation of material requisitions, specifications, and other procurement related documents
4. Assist in the evaluation of suppliers and technical bid evaluations.
5. Coordinate with mechanical designers to produce layouts for crushing plants, screening plants, conveyors, and pump stations.
6. Experience in chute design methods, both continuum and discrete element modelling would be beneficial.
7. Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements:
8. Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
9. computer skills including competence in MS Office suite and other common software.
10. flexibility and enthusiasm for individual and team tasks.
11. analytical problem-solving capabilities
12. demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
