Procurement Specialist – Key Role Requirements This client is a growing developer-builder specialising in high-rise residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects across Sydney. With a focus on cost-efficient, high-quality construction, they leverage direct procurement strategies to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance project delivery. Their hands-on leadership approach ensures agility in managing complex developments. Primary Responsibilities: Streamlining Procurement: Establish direct supply channels between Sydney, and China Eliminate unnecessary intermediaries to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Work closely with the Procurement Manager (China) to standardise procurement processes. Supplier & Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers across multiple regions. Ensure contracts are aligned with regulatory and commercial requirements. Source cost-effective, high-quality materials while managing risks. Cost Control & Budget Management: Negotiate competitive pricing with vendors to improve project margins. Monitor supply chain costs, ensuring projects remain within budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines. Procurement Strategy & Compliance: Ensure procurement practices comply with Australian, and Chinese regulations. Maintain a clear audit trail for all procurement transactions. Implement best practices in procurement planning to avoid delays. Ideal Candidate Profile: Experience in Construction Procurement – Ideally within a developer-builder or Tier 1/Tier 2 contractor. Strong Vendor Network – Well-connected with suppliers across Australia, and China. Procurement Experience – Understanding of regional supply chain practices and regulatory requirements. Direct Procurement Expertise – Ability to eliminate middlemen, ensuring a more efficient supply process. Commercial Acumen – Strong contract negotiation, cost control, and value engineering skills. Stakeholder Management – Works effectively across internal teams and external suppliers to align procurement strategy. Additional Considerations: Must have a global procurement mindset while ensuring materials and equipment meet Australian compliance standards. Ability to adapt to fast-moving project timelines, ensuring procurement processes do not cause delays.
