Project Overview:
Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.
Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking candidates for an IS&T (Information Systems and Technology) infrastructure support role on the Parker Point Stockyard Sustaining project.
Reporting to the project IS&T lead, there will be opportunities for growth and exposure to different technical disciplines through collaboration with a global IS&T support organisation. As the successful candidate, you will gain a great understanding of project management methodologies, construction work methods and productivity tools and exposure to a global array of technologies.
This role is camp-based FIFO (2 weeks on, 1 week off roster), providing frontline deskside, local network and general IS&T support for the project team at the jobsite near Dampier, WA.
Major Responsibilities:
* Respond to customer needs, questions and concerns and expedite actions in an accurate, effective and timely manner
* Maintain, Diagnose and resolve local IT Infrastructure, hardware & software related issues, while seeking to continuously improve incident resolution and customer service standards. Areas of support will include desktop/laptop computer hardware, mobile devices peripherals, networking, video conference, office printing equipment
* Support the Project’s automation strategy by installing and maintaining software from an approved suite of Company and Project standards
* Work with construction automation to support project systems reporting, data integration and work process improvements
* Deploy and provide end-user hardware and IT services to project personnel
* Follow standard operating procedures for IT requests, asset management practices, incidents and end-user support services
* Assist and participate in the implementation and support of new technologies, services and security remediations
* Assist in the IS&T equipment procurement process.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Industry experience gained through a recognised degree in a STEM-related field, and/or specialised courses in Information Systems, Engineering, Construction, or related fields, and/or work experience in a STEM-related field, with 2+ years of industry experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
The role requires a blend of customer focus, analytical and technical skills. Some key attributes you bring to this role include:
* Eager to learn a broad array of general IS&T skills in infrastructure, networking and general applications support
* Flexibility to travel and work in a regional construction site location on a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) arrangement
* Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
* Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
* Build productive and collaborative internal/external working relationships with local/remote personnel
* Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows 11 operating system and Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
Beneficial Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Some additional attributes you may bring to this role include:
* Experience identifying and documenting and communicating changes that may have a cost or schedule impact and provide input for management reporting
* Knowledge of satellite/microwave communication technologies, radio systems and call group management, site access control, construction webcam support, etc.
