Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, close-knit team at ESNEFT. Colchester and Ipswich Hospital are looking for a specialty doctor dermatologist to be an integral part of the team.
Candidates must be willing to work towards Portfolio Pathway (previously CESR). This will be a 12 month fixed term post with a possibility to offer a 24 month post.
Please state on your application if you have a preference on which site you would like to work at either Colchester or Ipswich Hospital.
Main duties of the job
All specialty doctors in the department have a continuing and individual responsibility for the care of patients in their charge and a general responsibility to provide, in conjunction with their colleagues, an effective Dermatology Service to meet the needs of the local population, within the resources available.

Job responsibilities
The Post-holder Will:
* Work with colleagues to provide the highest standard of care
* Work with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines
* Develop and maintain good working practices within wards, outpatients and A&E
* Collaborate and promote close working links with colleagues in community services and primary care
* Offer support to junior medical colleagues, and nursing colleagues
* To be responsible for complying with Trust Infection Control policies and clinical guidelines.
* Ensure training and development needs are followed up and the effectiveness of the acquired training and development evaluated in terms of self, patient and service.
* To be responsible for the quality of data recorded. The data should be accurate, legible (if hand written), recorded in a timely manner, kept up to date and appropriately filed.
Person Specification
Essential
* Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice.
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
* Meets professional health requirements (in line with GMC standards/ Good Medical Practice)
* Four years full time post graduate training (or equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis)
* Two years' experience working in Dermatology
* Competent in carrying out invasive and interventional procedures
* A confident person who has the ability to manage, motivate and teach the junior medical staff
* Capacity to manage time and prioritise workload, balance urgent & important demands, follow instructions
Desirable
* MRCS/FRCS or equivalent
* DLO or DOHNS equivalent
* Previous NHS experience
* Experienced in medicine outside Dermatology
* 10 years post registration
* Clear plan for continued professional development
