You will also support the Senior Building Surveyor (Compliance) in processing Building Approval Certificates and Occupancy Permits for unauthorized building works, ensuring adherence to statutory obligations, business plans, operational procedures, and Council policies.
Your Responsibilities Provide accurate and detailed technical advice on building compliance matters.Investigate and report on breaches of the Building Act 2011, Building Regulations, Building Code of Australia, Local Laws, and Council Policies.Process statutory building applications for unauthorized works.Collect evidence, make reports, and attend court or appeal tribunals as required.Assist in training and monitoring compliance officers, students, trainees, and technical officers.Provide building compliance advice to management, the general public, and Council.About You The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes to join us as a Building Surveyor, you could still be a perfect fit for the Compliance Officer role.

Tertiary qualifications in Building or a related discipline, or accreditation as Building Surveyor Practitioner Level 1 or Level 2.Registration as a Building Surveyor Practitioner in Western Australia.High level of knowledge and understanding of statutory Building Control in a Local Government environment.At the City of Stirling, we value your growth and development.

The Building Surveyor Compliance is a permanent full-time position is a Level 7 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $96,731 - $101,823 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
The Compliance Officer - Building is a permanent full-time position is a Level 6 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $85,751 - $90,264 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
