Come join our team at the newest service centre of the Pilbara located at Karratha as a Boilermaker/ Welder.
This role is offered on an 8/6 roster and preference to residential applications will be given, however those that have the ideal skill set based in Perth will also be considered.
What you will do
• Ensure all safety inductions and procedures have been completed prior to undertaking any tasks.
• Mark out/off structural fabrication and shapes for screens etc. according to specifications.
• After dressing has been completed by the steelyard, prepare material for bending, drilling or machining.
• Assemble and weld parts according to technical engineering drawings and route sheets.
• Repair, replace, modify and fabricate using appropriate tools and welding techniques.
• Perform appropriate welding to carry out the job.
• Operate hand tools and power tools appropriate to the job.
• Draw and interpret sketches appropriate to the job.
• Operate forklift/crane when required to shift and load equipment.
• Draw and interpret sketches appropriate to the job.
• Assist in the provision of on-the-job training when required.
• Dismantle, replace and assemble engineering components during general fabrication section activities.
• Conduct QA /QC inspections at 3rd party vendors, ensuring all Repairs/project works are to Metso standards, liaising with Engineering and product support as necessary.
To succeed
Essential
• Boilermaker Trade Certificate.
• Significant boiler making experience.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Strong attention to detail
