Key Responsibilities:
Tax
Preparing and lodging monthly BAS returns and corporate PAYG instalments for the Group and joint ventures.
Assisting with the preparation of income tax provisions and income tax returns.
Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of FBT returns.
Financial Accounting
Preparing and posting journals to the general ledger ensuring they are accurate and supportable.
Reviewing month end results to identify and correct mis postings whilst understanding the drivers of variances.
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations explaining life to date balances with a clear itemisation ensuring they are accurate and supportable.
Investigating and understanding unknown balances in the balance sheet.
Identifying and highlighting risks and issues that appear on the balance sheet.
Following up and correcting aged unrequired and mis posted transactions on the balance sheet.
Preparing financial reports for internal stakeholders.
Assisting the finance team with period end close activity.
Taking ownership of centralised processes that impact the wider business or corporate functions and identifying process improvement initiatives.
About You:
Our ideal candidate will have:
CPA/CA or studying towards (we are happy to support you here and have paid study days available).
Minimum 2 years of relevant finance experience, with exposure to taxation.
High proficiency in Excel.
Excellent communication skills with a proactive attitude.
