Our state government client is looking for a Senior Operations Specialist to ensure the efficient and continuous delivery of services to the Queensland public. This role requires a proactive approach to managing complex technical issues, delivering high-performance systems, and ensuring the seamless delivery of services in a 24/7 telecommunications environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee, monitor and support all aspects of the department's technical infrastructure including servers (both virtual and physical), networks and ICT security providing 2nd and 3rd level support as required.
2. Providing guidance and support to teammates in the effective improvement of services, including the identification of dependencies, incidents and constraints, technology and process improvements.
3. Ensure ongoing service delivery to the department's users by prioritising team workflow and managing more complex and/or escalated issues.
4. Manage and monitor systems and infrastructure to ensure high performance and availability.
5. Analyse data and statistics for business report development and providing recommendations for continual improvement to service delivery such as availability, technical performance and capacity planning.
6. Ensure ICT components and technical support are available to meet the department's business needs by establishing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, negotiating supply issues with vendors and escalating any performance issues in service level agreements with management.
7. Creating and maintenance of technical documentation as required.
8. After hours work may be required for tasks like: Server OS Patching.
9. Provide support for Microsoft Azure and O365 products.
10. Strong Azure Cloud knowledge (Deployment and Management).
11. Microsoft Server administration (MCSE would be desirable).
12. Practical knowledge of (Microsoft SCCM/Intune and SharePoint).
13. Practical understanding of LAN, DHCP and DNS Network.
14. ITIL Service Management.
