About the Role:
The Lecturer, Education-focused Academic will lead unit teaching teams in PG counselling programs to improve the student learning experience and outcomes.
This position is suited to a person with an emerging record and passion for learning and teaching, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and collaborate on teaching teams to develop inclusive and innovative curricula, resources, and assessments, while providing academic support to students.
* Integrate industry, clinical, and research practices into teaching, fostering learner engagement and success.
* Contribute to teaching scholarship and pedagogical research to improve student and graduate outcomes, and engage in professional development programs.
* Promote a culture of educational excellence by supporting junior colleagues, building pedagogical capabilities, and refining teaching practices.
* Participate in university citizenship and community engagement activities, contributing to strategic initiatives and professional innovation.
Requirements:
* PhD in a relevant discipline and/or a Masters in Counselling and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
* Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs in the area of counselling, including innovative curriculum design.
* Demonstrated passion and ability to deliver effective teaching and supervision practices to improve student success and engagement.
* Emerging record of scholarly learning and teaching in postgraduate or undergraduate programs.
* Ability to contribute to communities through research.
* Capacity to contribute to leadership of research and/or administration.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
* Eligible for ACA and/or PACFA registration.
* Registered psychologist (AHPRA) and/or counsellor (ACA/PACFA).
