About the role
We are searching for dedicated and passionate people to join our Townsville Home Care team as Home Care Workers. A Home Care Worker is responsible for providing our home care clients with assistance, support and encouragement of independence to live in their chosen community.
In this varied role you will:
* Provide personal care assistance to clients, for example showering, dressing and continence care;
* Help clients with cleaning, shopping, meal preparation and other light housework;
* Assist clients by transporting them to appointments and undertaking personal shopping;
* Assist with medication management;
* Support in the development of a consumer-driven care plan;
About you
You are someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of seniors as you are a caring and empathetic person. Your ability to build relationships will build trust with the clients and ensure that they are feeling supported and cared for.
You will need:
* A Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent;
* Completion of the unit of competency: HLTHPS006 - Assist clients with medication - or ability to acquire;
* Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificates;
* A current driver's licence and a willingness to use your own comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes (km's paid);
* Physical capacity to carry out the duties required, including house & manual work;
* National Police Certificate or the ability to acquire.
