care and make a real difference in the communities we serve.About the RoleAs a Medical Transport Specialist Training Aircrew Officer (ACO) you'll support MTS training and checking in addition to filling line ACO shifts as required.The role is Toowoomba based with a second assigned base at the Sunshine Coast.The role is full time, working a flexible equal time roster to accommodate both base locations.As an Aircrew Officer, your key accountabilities are to:Assist the pilot to carry out all aeromedical, search and rescue, emergency and counter disaster operations and other government support duties.Ensure the Captain is promptly advised on all matters affecting the safety, serviceability or effectiveness of the aircraft or the operation.Carry out all duties and training in accordance with the LifeFlight Australia's Operations Manual.Assist in ensuring that all flight and task documentation is accurately completed and that all crews are adequately briefed and debriefed on any deficiencies promptly addressed.Conduct MTS Training and Checking duties.Undertake and support operational duties during emergencies and disasters as necessary.About YouWe are looking for an experienced training Aircrew Officer who can demonstrate a background in a HEMS commercial or military environment and is looking for their next challenge.Along with excellent communication skills, and a keen interest in being part of a team, you will be comfortable offering operational support including ground training, administrative and other non-flight tasks.Mandatory Requirements:Minimum 1000 hours as a Helicopter Aircrew OfficerCertificate IV Aviation – Aircrew OfficerWinch and Rappel Competency CertificateTraining and Checking ACO with experience in the civilian EMS industryNVIS qualificationCASA Aviation Class 2 or Basic Class 2 Medical CertificateCurrent Senior First Aid / CPRCrew Resource ManagementHUET / EBS QualifiedDangerous Good AwarenessAbility to pass the LifeFlight Functionality Assessment (ACO)Highly Desirable:Minimum 100 hours NVIS experience, including night winchingFront Left Hand Seat OperationsAROC (Aeronautical Radio Operator's Certificate)SAR / EMS experience on B412 or AW139Functionality Assessment:The Functionality Test for the ACO role is made up of five components.All five components are to be completed within a two (2) hour timeframe.Assessment 1 – Abdominal Strength Test – 30 sit-ups under 2 minutesAssessment 2 – Upper Body Strength Test – 20 push-ups under 2 minutesAssessment 3 – Safe lifting techniques – 5 kettlebell
