Reporting to the Director, this position is responsible for leading and supervising the team to deliver timely and accurate correspondence, reporting and advice within Building Policy and with key internal and external industry stakeholders. The role is critical to ensure the continued high-quality responses are maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
• Manage the team to deliver priorities to support the Assistant Director-General, Executive Directors and Directors within Building Policy.
• Lead the development of business processes, including templates, to facilitate consistency and efficiencies across Building Policy.
• Prepare, review, and finalise executive documents including correspondence, submissions, briefing notes and other executive correspondence on behalf of the Assistant Director-General.
• Obtain relevant advice and maintain liaison with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
• Provide leadership and management for state and national groups, including meeting preparation, facilitation, and ensuring outcomes are actioned.
• Communicate and negotiate with a variety of key stakeholders including internal procurement, finance and human resources experts to provide advice and guidance to senior leaders.
• Identify and manage operational risks and provide advice as needed to facilitate delivery of Building Policy priorities.
• Knowledge of policy development, Cabinet and parliamentary processes, corporate governance and stakeholder management and demonstrated analytical skills.
• Support strategic and operational business processes such as annual budget processes and requests and reporting.
• Proactively manage and monitor the work performance of the team to ensure objectives and outputs are achieved.
