We are looking for a skilled, confident, creative communicator to join us in a lynchpin role.

Currently we are based in Sydney's Stone & Chalk and will be moving to the exciting scale-up community in Tech Central (477 Pitt St.), from August.
The role is Part Time, attracting a market competitive salary, experience dependent, and with the ability to WFH.
The Community and Events Manager will play a key role in shaping Apropela's image, values and ongoing success.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for engaging and overseeing our community and will have end-to-end involvement in delivering Apropela's calendar of high-quality events, which are extremely well attended by senior leaders in the business and community sectors.
Here is a brief overview of the work you will do:
Community management: We're looking for a personable, digitally savvy individual to be fully across and engaged with our entrepreneurial and vibrant community.
You will have oversight of our CRM and website and help to curate engaging and informative communications, for use across our digital marketing assets and social media channels.
Event management: Our hotly anticipated events are extremely well-attended by senior figures across the public and private sectors.
You will support the delivery of both online and in-person events.
The successful candidate will have a keen eye for event logistics, and the resourcefulness to troubleshoot any mishaps that inevitably occur!
Supporting relationships: Apropela exists to foster warm relationships between female entrepreneurs and senior members of the business and community sectors.
You will assist in facilitating the development of these warm relationships and by helping to ensure that the game-changing introductions that are 'offered' at our events occur.
The successful candidate will likely have the following: Comfort building relationships with senior business and community leaders, female entrepreneurs and others in the startup eco-system:Managing and resolving queriesCreating mechanisms for gathering community feedback, analysing patterns and themes and identifying opportunities to improve processesSuperb attention to detail and aptitude for logistical event planning both online (via Zoom) and in-person:Managing and coordinating events and webinars, liaising with speakers, hosts and contractors, updating the calendar of events, setting up event registration pages, and monitoring RSVPsHelping to coordinate Female Founder and Board events such as the annual retreat, and social founder gatheringsStrong digital platform skills – ie confident use of Salesforce, Microsoft 365 tools, Mailchimp Campaign management as well as design tools such as Adobe products, Canva, Wix.
Familiarity with Jotforms and Zapier would be helpful:Ensuring our website content is up-to-date and our marketing materials look fantastic and align to our brand guidelinesKeeping our CRM (Salesforce) up to dateAbility to contribute to social media channels (e.g.
predominantly LinkedIn):Keeping an eye on response and engagement rates, comments and sentiment on social media and other media, coordinating helpful and appropriate responsesAssisting on team projects and marketing activities, coordinating LinkedIn postsThe following prior experience will be viewed favourably:
Successfully managing professionally run eventsCrafting engaging and compelling community communications: newsletters, running and maintaining Slack channel, Whatsapp groupPrior experience with CRMsApplications to Kate Harper, CEO of Apropela Start date: July 1, 2025 (with the ability to work on 14 th and 15 th May at Sydney Portfolio Event) Apropela is based in Sydney in the vibrant shared workspace of Stone & Chalk Sydney Startup Hub/Tech Central.
While we require attendance at our Events and a weekly presence in the office, we also support remote working.
