Job Description
The Role:
We are seeking part-time Catering Assistants to work at our University Residential Dining Room in North Adelaide.
Reporting to the Chef Manager, your role is to ensure our students, staff, and guests have the opportunity to enjoy their meals in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere with excellent food service and quality.
Roster: Evening shifts available Monday to Sunday and also lunch shifts (20 to 25 hrs per week)
Responsibilities Include:
* Assisting with food preparation e.g. peeling/chopping vegetables, making sandwiches & salads
* Friendly customer service
* Plating and serving meals to our diverse customers
* Washing dishes, cleaning and maintaining kitchen & dining areas
* Assisting with preparation and service of functions and conferences
* Maintaining food hygiene, security, and safety practices
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Attributes Required:
* Previous experience assisting in all aspects of kitchen operations and service
* Ability to organise work with other team members and take direction
* Reliability and availability for various days and hours
* Motivated and enthusiastic
* First-class food safety practices
* Ability to comply with OH&S and food safety practices
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during peak service periods
