To help us achieve this we require Natural Resources Management Field Officer that has experience or a willingness to learn about biosecurity weed control, ecological restoration, and asset management. On a typical day our NRM Field Officer will:
* Provide field notes from inspections of contracted works.
* Provide field notes from inspections of APZ and SFAZ sites.
* Assist with monitoring activities for threatened fauna species.
* Assist environmental volunteer groups with on ground works.
* Undertake weed control on Council owned or managed lands.
* Digitally collect and map weed infestations to help guide our biosecurity program.
Remuneration and Benefits
Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $1,195.60 per week with the opportunity for competency-based salary review at 3 months

About Councils Natural Resources Team
The Natural Resources Team provides technical services to the community in regard to management of the natural environment extending from hinterland to the coastline in the Port Macquarie Hastings Local Government Area. We do so through the provision of invasive weed management, ecological restoration, bushfire risk mitigation and hazard management works, ecological advice on internal and external development applications and coast, estuary and flood management. Works include on-ground improvements and also policy and planning projects. The team works with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve the goals as set by the community.
