As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be able to utilise your Education/Psychology/Social Work/Therapist background to assist participants and their support network to improve their quality of live.Job Description As a Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner you will provide quality and specialist behaviour support through assessments, observation and analysis, and the provision of support services and assistance in the development and evaluation of behaviour support and intervention programs for children, young people and adults with disability. This role will involve the following: Conduct Functional Behavioural Assessments using a range of appropriate assessmentsDevelop Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support PlansLiaise and consult with clients, hospital and community staff, carers/family members, relevant agencies and government departments as appropriateProvide direct behavioural interventions in group and individual settingsUse behavioural, psychological and evidence-based theories to develop and implement strategies and interventionsBuild and develop strong relationships with key stakeholdersAdhere to NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission requirementsIdentify, report, and document the use of restrictive practicesPrepare customer records including timely and effective file notes, support plans, reports and other correspondenceComplete incident reports and any other mandatory reports as and when required. Desired Skills and Experience Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or associated clinical fieldA current registration to practice as a Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner in accordance with the NDIS Capability Framework (preferable).
