The Opportunity

We have a permanent full-time position for a Barista / Cafe Allrounder at our Caravonica facility, which is a 148-bed residential home - Caravonica Waters Aged Care - Nursing Home | Infinite Care.
Our Barista / Cafe Allrounder creates a friendly and customer service environment where residents and their families can come and socialise over a hot or cold beverage or snack. Typically, this involves:
* Welcoming all customers with a warm, friendly and helpful personality and attitude!
* Service of a range of snacks including hot and cold sandwiches, cakes, muffins, etc.
* Preparation and service of hot and cold (non-alcoholic) beverages - it is essential you have a barista certificate and make yummy coffees!
* Cleaning of kitchen, service areas and dining area around the coffee shop.
* Follow and carry out daily, weekly and monthly procedures to maintain high quality cafe operations.
* Work with the Chef Manager to talk through supply of items needed to run the cafe properly.
* Ensure the cafe area is free of any workplace hazards, trips, slips or other items that may cause a safety issue.
* Maintain a professional, respectful and inviting cafe environment which is a positive reflection of our company.
* Assist in / provide back up support in dining room service when required.
This role is a physical role whereby you will do a lot of bending, squatting, lifting and pushing items to carry out your daily tasks safely. It is important you can perform these tasks without risk of injury to yourself, your colleagues and our residents.
About You
At Infinite Aged Care, we hire on attitude and aptitude, so experience in the aged care sector is not necessary. Whilst formal qualifications such as a Cert II in Hospitality would be highly regarded, it is more important that you have a friendly disposition, a willingness to help others and demonstrated experience in a customer service or a hospitality environment such as retail, coffee shop, bar, or restaurant.
In addition to this, it is essential that you have:
* Demonstrated barista cafe hospitality experience with a passion for providing a friendly customer service environment.
* Full working rights in Australia to be a permanent employee.
* Strong workplace safety attitude, behaviours and "eye" for removing all hazards.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, be a self-starter, confidence and communicate very well with others, especially the kitchen staff.
* Ability to problem solve, ‘think on your feet’, show initiative to perform at a high standard.
* Excellent communication & interpersonal skills and the ability to make people feel welcomed.
* Hardworking, flexible with good availability to cover shifts.
