THE ROLE
We are seeking a seasoned Tax and Asset Manager to join the Melbourne-based finance team in a senior capacity, reporting directly to the CFO.
This is a broad and commercially significant role, responsible for managing the group's tax planning, fixed asset register, management of capital planning and works, and insurance program.
You will play a key part in ensuring ongoing adherence to statutory obligations and best-practice asset governance, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Full ownership of corporate tax, GST, FBT, and BAS compliance processes, including internal advisory and ATO correspondence;Manage the Fixed Asset Register, lead the development and execution of capital projects, WIP, and adherence to asset policies;Lead the end-to-end insurance program, renewals, and stakeholder liaison to ensure risk is appropriately covered across all operations;Provide tax structuring advice on acquisitions and corporate transactions;Ensure accurate reporting to the Board and stakeholders, including supporting cost control and budgetary processes;Monitor and report on legislative changes in taxation with implications for the group;Collaborate across finance, operations, and external advisors to maintain robust compliance and governance processes.THE REQUIREMENTS
CA/CPA qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years' experience in tax advisory, preferably with exposure to corporate or institutional clients;Proven experience managing direct and indirect tax obligations and compliance;Strong technical knowledge in fixed asset accounting and insurance risk management;Commercial mindset with the ability to influence and engage cross-functionally;Highly organised, detail-oriented and confident working in a lean, fast-paced team;Prior exposure to agriculture or capital-intensive industries is desirable.TO APPLY
