Example: As the Manager Vessel Operations, you will be a senior leader within AMSA’s Operations division. Strategically supporting operations functions of educating and ensuring the domestic and international shipping industries are operating in accordance with the requirements of the respective safety regulatory frameworks. Specifically, in this role you will have the opportunity to make a real impact and difference to the maritime industry both domestically and internationally. You will be the driver of AMSA’s goals with respect to vessel operations and the alignment of that area to AMSA’s corporate strategy. The role will see you and your team provide a responsive and hands on approach to solving industry issues. You will be a key liaison with industry, Commonwealth and State/Territory authorities and other relevant domestic and international bodies to promote the application of effective safety system processes in the maritime industry. Reporting into the National Operations Manager – Central, you will be part of a strong customer focused and results driven team of professionals. Example: To be successful in this position, you will have solid foundations and management experience within the Australian Maritime industry. Your knowledge and understanding of international conventions and associated national regulatory requirements will be key to your success. Having your finger on the pulse will excite you; and you will be passionate about providing high quality solutions that minimise impacts or disruptions to vessel operations. You will be well adept in developing and managing budgets and have experience in the delivery of cost effective solutions. You will be a natural promoter and influencer, with an ability to engage and network with a variety of stakeholders. You will possess strong presentation, written and verbal capacities and you will be technically qualified.
