While it takes a team of over 500 people to operate GMA's three mine sites, ten processing plants, five recycling facilities, and 13 offices around the globe, the legacy of innovation and core values continue to pass down throughout each generation.
THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Planning and Mechanic Maintenance Supervisor at Port Gregory, the Stores and Logistics officer is responsible for managing parts and materials for Port Gregory operations and Geraldton operations. The Stores and Logistics officer works closely with Mobile, Mechanical and Electrical supervisors as well as the Reliability engineer and the Maintenance administrator. Supports Workflow, Shutdown planning as well as weekly planning and scheduling. Supports agreed Business Leading and Lagging KPI’s.
Roster: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs / week
Travel between both Port Gregory and Narngulu site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* picking and packing orders, which involves collecting products and getting them ready for dispatch.
* checking incoming goods against invoices and inspecting them to ensure they are free of damage.
* unloading delivery trucks and unpacking the contents of packages
* Setting up storage containers and racking for both sites.
* Keeping both site’s maintenance warehouse facilities in an organised and clean state
* Stock taking when required.
* Replenishing low stock levels.
* Collecting parts from suppliers in Geraldton and delivering to Port Gregory and Geraldton plants.
* using warehousing machinery, such as forklifts, to lift, place and remove items on high shelves or racks.
* sorting items and placing them in the correct location on shelves or in bins
* complying with safety regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
* maintaining a clean and tidy work area according to 5S principals
* Uses company CMMS and Warehouse software packages.
ESSENTIAL/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:
* Must obtained rights to work in Australia;
* Organisational skills
* Forklift and Unrestricted drivers licence, HR preferred but not essential.
* Experience in warehouse management and logistics.
* Experience in parts management and procurement
* Experience in receipting
* good written and verbal communication skills
* ability to interpret and process warehouse documentation, such as shipping invoices, picking lists.
* ability to lift, move, load and unload heavy items.
* good numerical skills
* attention to detail.
* ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision and guidance.
* willingness to work shifts and be flexible with work hours.
* Logistics qualification will be advantageous.
